We are proud to announce the Office of Greek Life will be sponsoring a presentation about the topic of Risk Management and Anti-Hazing with Miles Washburn from MilesAhead on March 7th in the Student Union Ballroom. Lunch will be provided at noon and the presentation will start at 12:30pm and run during free period.
Miles is the International Treasurer for the Delta Chi Fraternity, Massachusetts '87, and he speaks to fraternity and sorority members providing ideas and insight on how to improve recruitment by using better listening and question asking skills, closing skills and also how to improve their image, both personally and as a chapter. During his visit to New England, Miles will also be speaking at URI, WPI, and UMass.
Directly from Miles' site, he discusses that "this presentation is very specific to local and state laws, and the associated penalties for breaking them. Subtle Hazing, Harassment Hazing and Violent Hazing are all covered in detail. This presentation is very interactive and often surprises the students with what really happens if they are caught in a hazing situation."
We look forward to having Miles visit our campus and bring some insight to a topic affecting all Greek communities. This presentation is specifically tailored for Greeks, but if another organization is interested in having their group participate, please contact Megan Fox at mfox@ric.edu.
